I plan to start using the Google Timer. I usually try to take breaks while writing long paper or studying for lengthy period of time, but I usually have anxiety about taking too much or not enough time. However, I am sure google timer will help me to get the most out of my breaks and keep me on track. In addition, I have learned from several time management articles that taking breaks can be very helpful. To begin, I had an amazing interview at Samuel Merritt’s School of Medicine. But it was very warm there, which didn’t really put me in the Thanksgiving spirit. However, since I have come back to Oklahoma, I have traveled back to Tulsa to visit with my family for the holiday. Thus, I will try to have a good time with my folks while I am here, but I will also be completing a lot of writing while I am here. I only have a few points left to end up where I need to be to maintain my scholarship, but I want to finish my second story for sure. I am certain that I will be tucked away in my favorite childhood place to do my writing. I feel that I utilize Growth Mindset in many aspects in my life. One particular instance that I can think of which is non-academic is playing music. I have played guitar since I was 14. I have also taught many people to play guitar. In my experience, most people want to simply learn a song from only memory alone. This is understandable since this gives them the instant satisfaction of playing and sounding good. However, this is the least efficient way to learn how to play because there is no real learning taking place. It is much more beneficial to first learn a foundation of music (a musical alphabet essentially). Of course, this takes more time, but it will allow the individual take their established foundation and utilize for anything melody of their choice later down he road. I feel that this appraoch implements the growth mindset since it is based upon the making the process a priority and focusing on the components.                   ...
