Review: Extra Credit

Image
I have backed up all of my material. In addition,  my favorite announcement from last week was the extra credit because I had so much going on last week. I went to a conference in Minneapolis with my family over the weekend and I three exams. Thus, I had to skip several assignments that I will make up in the following week. But I have completed most of the extra-credit from last week, which I always enjoy for this course.                                                                                                       Back-Up Meme

Famous Last Words: Week 4

I was not able to do the reading for this week :(   because I had three exams this week. I would not normally skip the reading, but this class had been arranged in a wonderful that really lets the student decide how they want to learn. Moreover, I think that I can just take up next week where I left off the week before. This way, I won’t be missing out on anything, which would be a shame otherwise. Furthermore, I am really excited to get back into this course. I enjoyed the stories that we got to write. I think that I am a very creative person and I feel this class rewards and promotes creativity. For this upcoming week, I will be applying myself like the way I did in the first three weeks. I had a very structured system in place that was working for me, especially when and where I do my best work. It was just those three exams that kind of skewed that structure! But I am beginning to get into the groove of the semester and it will help that its getting colder ou...

One of the most interesting facts that was confirmed through this article was that your brain replays that days events in your mind during REM. Something that I didn't know is that this is believed to "solidly" that days information in a type of memory maintenance. Lastly, this article's main claim is based upon this theory. Cramming without sleep can cost you some of your memory. During sheer memorization, the night before an exam, for instance can be discounted if you don't get enough sleep because of the REM that you will be missing out on. I found this really interesting. I think that I email my physiology about this, she has been really interested in this matter as well. Further, I have followed and bookmarked the links that are suggested and ...

Growth Mindset: Quotes

Link for Quotes "Genius is: 20% Persistence 15% Creativity 10% Mistakes 20% Motivation 15% Reflection 20% Endurance " "Get Comfortable getting uncomfortable. Challenges shouldn't be something to just grin an bear, they should be something that you actively seek out to make yourself better." I found these two quotes on paddlet and I really appreciated them. I think that many times people feel that genius is an innate quality predisposed to lucky individuals. However, there are many more variables that make up intelligence. It is something that can be worked on an worked for. Furthermore, I have not always been someone who embraces a challenge. But since I have came to college I have learned that it helps keep me intellectually sharp. With this approach, my mind will already be exercised when challenging situations arise. Thus, I feel that I have utilized both of these attitudes in my adult and they have benefited me a great deal. For instance...
